| The Backpacker Mountain Dulcimer incorporates the same quality and features of the Smoky Mountain Model...it is made of the finest solid woods. It features book matched walnut or cherry back and sides (other woods often available). The soundboard is also bookmatched - either matching hardwood, or spruce, western cedar, or butternut. High quality enclosed tear tuners ensure ease of operation and reliable performance. The difference...it is much smaller and is teardrop-shaped. The scale length is 16.25", allowing this instrument to be tuned an octave above normal, and many are being used in dulcimer ensembles to provide a higher voice. |
